They collected some really great monster art from a lot of great cartoonists over the past couple months and the result is The Monsters Poject.

What’s the only thing you love more than sleep? It’s probably food.

Now guess what the theme of the Boston Comics Roundtable’s latest Inbound anthology was? It was food.

So logic dictates that you’ll love it just as much, if not more than sleeping.

The food issue is just that, stories about food. Fiction and non-fiction. It’s in Boston area book stores and comic shops now, and it’s available online at the BCR website. Inbound #5 debuted at M.I.C.E and it’s getting some pretty good reviews and I’ve been lazy about spreading the word until now, mostly because I hadn’t had a chance to sit down and read through the entire thing…until now. My favorite story has to be LineO’s The Sardine’s Tale but I genuinely love this book as a whole.

I managed to work an actual recipe into my story, The Nine Onion Rings of Hell. It plays on the Dr. Strange/Wong paradigm, with the servant using magic to teach a demanding sorcerer a lesson by putting a hex on his lunch. Here’s some images from my story, and you can see some more samples from the book here.

Make sure you pick up a copy wherever you can and let me know if you end up cooking my spicy onion-ring recipe.

So MICE (the Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo) is one of my new favorite shows to table at. I’ll always love SPX for the cartoonist crowd and seeing people I otherwise never see, but MICE has stolen the show for attendees. I’ve never seen such constant crowds of people so thoroughly interested in all the random comics at the show. I only started going to SPX a couple years ago, but I image this is what it was like in it’s early days. Lots of enthusiastic fans, lots of talented creators, lots of awkward conversations, but an excellent time overall. Thanks to MICE I’m almost completely sold out of my mini A Profound State of Unconsciousness.

I’ve been busy with some art projects and inventing but I’ve got a couple ideas for some minis I’d like to get done over the next year. Here’s some pics of the studio I’ll be making them in.

The site has been redesigned thanks to some Albanian hackers effectively deleting the old site off my server. Thanks guys!

I’m working to get all the content back up on the site but in the meantime you can check out the Boston Comics Roundtable and the Outbound blog. Outbound #2 is out soon and ‘Flek’ continues with it’s second installment. I’m working on part three now and the style is changing a bit. I’ll post some sketches after I get the site back to 100%.

And the BCR just announced the theme for Inbound #5…FOOD…so I’m working on my story for that as well. I’m going to work an actual recipe into my story so you’ll be able to cook straight from the anthology. I’m starting the rumor that Inbound #5 is going to be printed on scratch and sniff paper. Pass it on.
